Spring 2016 Request for Proposals and Letters of Interest

The Healthy Foods, Healthy Lives (HFHL) Institute invites letters of interest and proposals for three spring funding opportunities:
  • University Research Grant
  • Graduate and Professional Student Research Grant
  • Community-University Planning Grant

The HFHL Institute seeks Request for Proposals (RFP) for our University (faculty) Research Grant Program which seeks to fund new, interdisciplinary faculty research teams that include members from at least three distinct disciplines and that produce research that has a high potential for growth and for becoming self-supporting over time. The priority areas for focus are food protection (safety), prevention of obesity and diet-related disease, food policy and food security. Within these priority areas, of special importance is the integration of agriculture and health sciences.
Proposal Submission Deadline: April 15, 2016

The goal of the Graduate and Professional Student Research Grant Program is to support student research and/or other activities related to broadening interdisciplinary learning and engagement in the areas of food, agriculture, and human health.

The Community-University Planning Grant Program is designed to provide seed funding for the development of promising, authentic community-university partnerships related to food, nutrition and health.  The expected outcome of this award is that teams prepare and submit a grant proposal in the fall funding cycle or to other equivalent University, government and/or private sources.
Letters of Interest (and supporting documents) Submission Deadline: April 15, 2016

Funds for all grant programs will be awarded through a competitive review process.
