Join us for the #TourDeNice!

Break away from the pack and join The Minneapolis Foundation for the #TourDeNice – a bike sharing challenge! The Foundation is committed to fostering a culture of generosity in our community. To encourage everyone to get involved, we’re launching the #TourDeNice – a competition between nonprofit riders traveling the Twin Cities’ Nice Ride bike network on Saturday, July 9.

Nonprofit riders will compete to see who can log the most Nice Ride station check-ins on the morning of July 9. Meanwhile, all day long, cyclists all over the Twin Cities can pitch in simply by hopping on a Nice Ride bike. For every Nice Ride trip taken on July 9, the Foundation will donate $1 to a “winner’s pool” that will be divided between causes chosen by the top three nonprofit riders. Take a spin on a Nice Ride bike and help raise money for charity!

Want to throw your nonprofit’s hat in the ring?

  1. Submit the name of a rider willing to compete on their behalf (can be a staff member, volunteer or Board member for your organization) the morning of July 9.
  2. Complete the entry form by May 15 to be entered into a random drawing to select riders. Ten riders will be selected to compete.
  3. Winning nonprofits will be notified by June 1 – giving your rider just over a month to train and strategize!

This event follows on the heels of the wildly successful #NicestDayEver – last year’s partnership between The Minneapolis Foundation and Nice Ride. On the #NicestDayEver, the Twin Cities set a new bike sharing record, with 5,613 Nice Ride trips logged in a single day – triggering a $5,613 donation to charity.

The #NicestDayEver also generated significant positive coverage for our event partners in local TV, radio, and print media. Participating in this year’s #TourDeNice (and promoting it in advance through your networks) is a great way to generate excitement with your followers about the work you’re doing and to raise awareness about your organization with new audiences.
