Minneapolis, MN – The organization previously known as Commuter Connection, the Downtown Minneapolis Transportation Management Organization (TMO), has officially been rebranded to Move Minneapolis. The organization is rebranding as it moves to a new location at 505 Nicollet Mall, where it will share a retail storefront with Meet Minneapolis and Saint Croix Promotions & Retail. The store will operate under the name Minneapolis Visitor Information on Nicollet, with the tagline “Shop. Move. Find.” It will offer an extensive collection of locally inspired artisan goods, visitor information services, and transportation services like Go-To passes, carpool, and MnPass registration.

The Downtown Minneapolis TMO, formed in 1991 by Minneapolis City Council action, is a private/public partnership between the downtown community and the City of Minneapolis. Its mission is to promote and advocate for a sustainable transit and transportation system that supports a vital and growing downtown Minneapolis. For over twenty years, the TMO has operated as a commuter resource store in the skyway level of the US Bank Plaza, where it promoted transit, carpooling, car-sharing, biking, and walking to downtown commuters, residents, and businesses. That storefront closed on Friday, October 9 and moved in to the new location on Monday, October 12.

“This is a unique opportunity for our organization to serve a wider audience,” said Dan MacLaughlin, Executive Director of Move Minneapolis. “The new location on the soon-to-be renovated Nicollet Mall, and adjacent to the light rail station, will be a social hub where the downtown business community, booming residential population, and visitors all meet.”
