Problem Gambling Prevention Project
Introduction
The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) has partnered with state-wide community organizations and behavioral health providers to reduce disparities and inequities experienced by priority populations in MN, especially related to the problem gambling and treatment settings.
Asian Media Access is honored to partner with MN Depart of Human Services for this project, and we will focus on Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities in MN.
A recent study found that 56,000 Minnesota adults struggle with problem gambling, and 162,000 more are at risk of addiction. The good news is, help is available, and recovery is possible.
Asian Media Access Work
Helping young people find and express their own voices can produce an amazing range of messages and imagery. To this end, Asian Media Access works with young adults to help them understand and articulate issues they care deeply about. Guiding them with software and online design resources, as well as providing lessons from communication industry experts, our students use their imaginations to tackle often difficult subjects, applying their own perspectives and heritage languages.
