Zintkala Luta
The name of our organization is “Zintkala Luta”, which means “Red Bird” and carries with it the traditional Lakota belief that we pray as we sing. Zintkala Luta is an educational organization dedicated to offering Native language and cultural programs. Zintkala Luta (Red Bird) announces educational approaches to target youth of families, designed with best practices in teaching L/Dakota and Ojibwe language in the K-12 grades to have access to a bilingual education.
The existing programs at All Saints Church (3044 Longfellow Ave. S., Minneapolis) are a community L/Dakota language table (Thursday nights, 5:30-7:00), developing curriculum to revitalize an endangered culture, and a dance regalia workshop.
