RadioASIA (Asian Station In America) – 106.1 HD 3

RadioASIA serves the Twin Cities metro area and greater Minnesota, working with BOB FM, for a vision of multi-lingual broadcasting radio station, with diverse cultural and linguistic productions via supplemental digital audio channels. This is a unique collaboration between the private and public sectors, a first such alliance in multicultural broadcasting, featuring: Chinese, English, Hindi, Hmong, Khmer, Korean, Laotian, and Vietnamese.

 

Programming has included: Emergency Broadcasts and Alerts: Life saving emergency information i.e. tornado warnings, Amber Alerts, public health warnings, etc. will be broadcast in multiple non-English languages. Health Talk: This program strives to educate the multicultural communities on health issues, discuss substance abuse prevention and intervention strategies, and promote improved wellness for the communities.  Part of the program will involve a culturally competent health professional answering call-in questions from listeners on specific health matters. Sounds of Asia: Sounds of Asia will broadcast diverse music programming from traditional music to pop music that is well known throughout all of Asia. All in the Mix: Throughout the day, short 5-minute English, as a Second Language (ESL) segment of various levels of difficulty will be broadcast.  These segments will assist non-English language speakers and Limited English Language Learners to acquire some basic English language communication skills. Local Talent: This program will focus on local artists, both youth and adults, in the genres of music, spoken word, rap songs, and diverse interview shows to highlight the local concerns.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
