Celebrate Hmong Storytelling at the Qhia Dab Neeg Film Festival
The Qhia Dab Neeg Film Festival is a celebration of Hmong storytelling that carries with it the intent of honoring the history, tradition and culture of the Hmong through the art of film, music, and photography. Save the date and join us on October 20, 2018 at the North Garden Theater for our 9th annual film festival.
Pitch a Tent at the CSFA Annual Family Campout 2018
You are welcome to come pitch your tent for the weekend or join us for the CSFA Group Picnic Festivities on Saturday, Aug 11th. Do bring your beverage, camping equipment and a potluck dish to share for dinner. EVENT IS ENTIRELY FREE TO THE PUBLIC.

Record a mini-oral history of your personal Plymouth Avenue stories; find your roots in an interactive family tree; take a trip down memory lane by sampling dishes inspired by Plymouth Avenue’s gone-but-not-forgotten Lucille’s Kitchen and more.

Join the Karen Community at their First Annual Karen Health Resource Fair
WellShare International’s Karen Tobacco-Free Program and the Karen Organization of Minnesota are hosting the first ever Karen Health Resource Fair on Saturday, August 25th at the McDonough Fields next to Mississippi Creative Arts School.
This event will bring health resources directly to the Karen community. Dental, physical, and mental health organizations as well as workforce, housing, and other supporting organizations are encouraged to attend.

Whats the “HYPE?” Our main slogan for this year is “HYPE” which stands for Hmong Youth Power Energized. Our theme this year is all Youth themed and focused and we celebrate and empower our younger generations because they are truly the future. Youth! This is your time!
This will be located at the same location inside the MN State Fair at Dan Patch Park. Your paid entry into the main gates at State Fair gets you in FREE into Hmong MN Day just like every year!

Join the Hennepin County’s Green Partners Network at Lake Minnetonka to learn about aquatic invasive species, water quality, and habitat protection. Learn what you can do as a resident and an educator to stop the spread of invasive species in our water. Hear from Hennepin County staff and partners about education and outreach efforts and resources to reach residents and those who enjoy our lakes.
Getting there:
We encourage public transit, bicycling, and walking. Limited parking is available. A bus will pick up passengers at 11 a.m. from Folwell Park in Minneapolis (1615 North Dowling Avenue) and at 11:20 a.m. at the Louisiana Avenue Park and Ride in St. Louis Park (1300 Louisiana Avenue). We will arrive in Spring Park around 11:45 a.m. Spring Park can be reached by Metro Transit bus route 645 from downtown Minneapolis.

Please bring your own beverage container. We will have a 5-gallon water dispenser so you can refill your water container.

The discussion will center on new research showing what communities of color have known for decades—that structural barriers and legalized discrimination barred many people of color from buying property and building wealth for most of the last century.

Lightrail Outage! Buses will replace Blue and Green Line trains Aug. 11-13
Beginning at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, buses will replace Blue Line trains from 38th St. to Target Field Station and Green Line trains from Stadium Village to Target Field Station.
Trains will resume by 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13.
Work being conducted includes ramp demolition, railbox repair work, Franklin Avenue bridge work and asphalt work on 11th Avenue.
